Support thins out long before grief does.
Stay with families through the whole first year.
You stay in touch after a death with calls, letters and memorial services. Innerfolk adds something for the days in between: a free year of one question each morning, in a private journal that ends in a book.
- Free during the pilot

Today's question
What do you hope you’ll remember about right now?
Start anywhere.
You already do the hardest part.
You're there when a family is at its most raw, and you keep reaching out long after: the calls, the letters, the groups, the memorial services.
But your list is long, and not every family comes to a group. The hardest days often arrive months later: the first holidays, a birthday, the anniversary.
Nobody can be there for every one of those days. A question each morning can be.
Why it fits your program
It sits alongside what your team already does, without adding to anyone's day.
A daily touchpoint between your calls and letters
One question each morning, on the days nobody from your team can reach out.
Something for families who won't come to a group
It's private, it's at home, and a few lines are enough.
No extra work for your team
You hand out the card, and we take care of the rest.
It adds to what you do
Your calls, letters, groups and services stay exactly as they are.
What a family receives
Everything they need to begin, at no cost to them.
A free year
No payment details are asked for, and nothing renews. They start whenever they're ready.
One question each morning
Written by a person and chosen for loss. A few lines are enough on any day.
Complete privacy
You never see what they write, and nobody at Innerfolk reads it.
A book of their own words
At the end of the year, what they've written can become a printed book.
What the cards look like
This is what you'd hand a family. Your cards share this design, with your name on the front.
How the pilot works
Three steps, and most of the work is ours.
Talk with us
Fifteen minutes, at your office or by phone. We'll answer every question your team has.
We bring your cards
Up to 25, with your name on them. Each one is a free year for one family.
Offer them when it feels right
At a bereavement visit or in an aftercare packet. Now and then, we'll check in to hear what families say.
The pilot at a glance
- Who
- A few hospices and funeral homes in Anne Arundel County and greater Baltimore.
- Cards
- Up to 25 for each partner, with your name on them.
- Cost
- Free during the pilot.
- When
- Starting now. Cards reach families as soon as the questions about loss have been reviewed.
- Afterward
- If you'd like to continue, you buy cards for your families at a partner price, below what a family would pay on its own.
What we promise
What you can tell your team, and the families you serve.
- We never pay for referrals. Your recommendation stays yours, and families can trust it.
- We never receive names or details about the people you serve. You hand out cards, and nothing else passes between us.
- You can learn how many of your cards have been used, never by whom.
- Families decide for themselves. We never contact anyone first, and stopping takes one tap.
- A licensed grief counselor reviews every question about loss before any family sees it.
- We never claim Innerfolk helps anyone heal. It's a private journal, not counseling and not a crisis service, and every page shows the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
Questions partners ask
What your team will likely want to know before saying yes.
Does any information about patients or families come to you?
No. You hand out cards, and nothing about the people you serve passes to us. A family becomes known to us only if they choose to start, and even then we never tell you who did.
Does this replace any part of our bereavement program or aftercare?
No. It adds a daily touchpoint between what you already do. Your calls, letters, groups and services stay exactly as they are.
Can we include it in our bereavement or aftercare program?
Yes. You can offer it as one of the resources in your program, and how you note it is up to your team. We can tell you how many of your cards have been used, never by whom.
What does a family see when they use the card?
A short, gentle page with your name on it, then their first question. They can begin that day or whenever they're ready.
What if someone is struggling?
Nobody reads what people write, so Innerfolk can't respond in a crisis, and we say so plainly. Every page shows the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, and if you'd like, your card can carry your bereavement team's number too.
Who reviews the questions?
A licensed grief counselor, independent of any partner, reviews every question about loss before a family sees it, with the most care given to the first two weeks.
Who is behind Innerfolk?
Innerfolk is a small company in Annapolis. You'll always deal with its founder directly.
Do you pay partners for referrals?
No, and we never will. Paying for referrals would mean a family was steered by money, and we'd have to tell them so. Your recommendation stays yours.
What does it cost?
Nothing during the pilot. If you'd like to continue afterward, you buy cards for your families at a partner price, below what a family would pay on its own. You're always the customer, never a paid referrer.
Your care, carried through the year.
Families you serve have a quiet place to turn each morning, on the days nobody calls. And at the end of the year, they have a book of their own words.
If this sounds right for your families, I'd be glad to hear from you. I'm close by, and happy to come to you with a sample card and talk it through.
Thank you for the care you give families at such a hard time.
