Remember your first year as a parent.

Not a baby book. Your own first year, as a parent.

One question each morning about you. A few lines are enough, even at 3 a.m., and at the end of the year it becomes a book of your own words.

EVERY MORNING
An Innerfolk Annual Edition, front and back.
EVERY YEAR

Why parents keep it

  • Remember a year that blurs

The first year goes fast, and much of it happens half asleep. A few lines a day keep it.

  • A few minutes that are yours

In a year that is all about the baby, one question each morning is about you.

  • A book of your own story

At the end of the year, what you wrote becomes a book: your first year as a parent, in your own words.

A morning with Innerfolk

This is all it asks: one question, and a few honest lines.

An example

What do you hope you’ll remember about right now?

The weight of the baby asleep on my chest. That we were exhausted and still laughed at 2 a.m.

Two lines, about a minute. Skip any day with “Not today.”

Two facing pages of an Annual Edition, showing entries from consecutive days.
WHAT YOUR YEAR BECOMES

How it works

  1. Start free for seven days

See if it fits your mornings before you pay anything.

  2. Answer one question each morning

Written for your first year as a parent. Miss a day, or a week, and nothing is lost.

  3. Keep your year as a book

Every dot is a day; the ones in color are the days you wrote. At the end of the year, it becomes a book.

Private, and safe

What you write stays with you.

  • Nobody at Innerfolk reads what you write.
  • We never show you ads, and never market other products to you.
  • Your doula sees only what you choose to show on your visit page, never your journal.
  • We’ll remind you before your year renews, and you can cancel from your account at any time.

If you’re struggling, call or text the National Maternal Mental Health Hotline at 1-833-TLC-MAMA (1-833-852-6262), any time, day or night. You can also call or text 988. Innerfolk is a private journal, not a crisis service.

Written for every family

For birthing and non-birthing parents, adoptive and surrogacy families, single parents and same-sex couples, of any faith or none, and written knowing that not every birth goes as planned.

Questions parents ask

Is this a baby book?

No. A baby book records the baby’s milestones. Innerfolk asks about you: your first year as a parent, in your own words.

When should I start?

The questions are written for the year after your baby arrives. Start any time in that year, whenever you’re ready.

What happens after the seven days?

Your first year continues at $79, the price your doula arranged for you. Cancel in the first week and you won’t be charged.

What if I miss days?

Nothing is lost, and nobody keeps score. Come back whenever you can; the next question is waiting.

Do I need an app?

No. It works in your phone’s browser, and you can add it to your home screen.

What is the visit page?

A page where you can write down what you’d like to talk about at your doula’s next visit. Only what you put there, and only if you choose to show it.

Can my partner join too?

Yes. Each journal is for one person, and your partner can start their own with the same offer.

What if things don’t go as planned?

If you experience a loss, one tap stops the questions about parenthood. You can move to questions written for grief, or stop entirely.

Who is behind Innerfolk?
